Align DS510's do a pretty good job -although I don't think they're metal geared.

Just got off the phone to Sussex Helis to discuss my battery fault and spoke to him about the servos that you're after. He has four in stock.

I know Ripsaw has limited (No) access to this forum during the day so I've sent him a text with the details as he hasnt been able to get them thus far!

              Cheers

I know they are not great but the 500 comes with the mounting plate for the HS82MG. I have been running them in my 500 and they seem to be fine.

                    Hi

The Hi Tec HS82MG's and even the 5245's are horrible, fine they won't break in a crash but they also won't make your heli very nice to fly, the difference between these and having decent servo's like the ALign DS510/520 and Futaba 9650/9257 is very very noticable!

If you must have metal gears then Align are bring out a metal geared version of the DS510 and a gear set to convert existing 510's to the MG spec.

                    Cheers
                    Bob

                        I agree...

I've got the 82MGs in my 500 and they work OK but there's alot of play in them now and I am thinking about replacing them, probably with DS510 as I already have a 520 on the tail..

I bought the heli 'as new' s/h a year ago so they've not lasted too well IMO and I don't fly every weekend and when I do it's only for 20 mins as I only have 2 lipos... all hovering and the odd circuit so nothing too strenuous...

Martyn if you fly so infrequently then I would agree they were either thrashed prior to you buying the heli or they just arent up to the job!

I'm usually quite good when it comes to spotting stuff like this so I can't imagine they are as bad as they are now when I first got it. I've had 2 crashes and one of them meant a new servo and that's when I first noticed the play in the original two compared to the new one.

Out of the many setups I had with 500s, although not ever using the DS510s...

These always performed and lasted better than the rest
