Hello to everyone on the forum, I have been visiting the forum for about three months now, looking at tips and hints on flying. I started off with the MCX and now flying an MSR, I am currently looking at my next heli, not sure wether to go for a Blade cp pro 2 or go for the Blade 400, I have not seen much on the forum about the cp pro 2 does this mean its not worth bothering with ? Any feedback will be greatfully recieved.

    Hi there speed triple,

Welcome to the forum. I started off with a blade CX2 and love it. The Blade 400 is a fantastic heli. I think you would love it. The twister storm 3d is almost exactly the same heli as the Blade 400. One of the main differences is the twister has better blades (carbon) so this might be a good start.

    Many thanks hope this helps,
    Rob.

if i were u and you can strech the budget, i would get a trex400 sport or pro, much better than most and good price on the spares, and most shops stock them.

            Welcome to the forum!

I bought a blade 400 to learn with after owning a Twister CP (which was frankly awful to fly). The Blade is quite frisky out of the box but can be easily calmed and there are plenty examples of what to do on you-tube. It is quite challenging to fly for a beginner and gets small quite quickly in the air. I still use it to try stuff out before my Raptor (which is actualy far easier to fly but more expensive to fix).

The Blade also comes with the Spectrum DX6i transmitter which will enable you to upgrade to other models in the future.

If you do not already own a simulator then it's well worth getting one in my opinion, and will save you a fortune in the long run (Phoenix is the most commonly reccomended on thisforum)

            Good Luck!

                        Hi and welcome,

I started with an MCX, then rather rashly bought a B400 off ebay which was a real bargain, however when I saw it scared the pants off me.

Next step was a BNF MSR which I have been using with the Dx6i tx that came with the b400.

Have just started playing with Phoenix and am determined to get half way decent on that before taking out the b400.

If the new SR came with a decent tx or could be bought BNF then I would consider going that route next but as you cant here are the two choices I would consider.

One option would be go for the b400 but get phoenix and get proficient before trying the b400, the advantage of the b400 is as a package you get the dx6i tx and rx as part of the package which you can keep when you move onto another bird.

Otherwise from what I have read here then I would probably go Dx6i and phoenix, then probably a Trex 405 or similar.

                        Cheers
Pico z * 2 (I know they arent 'proper' helis but they are to blame)
MCX - Got bored after a fairly short time.
MSR * 2 (my current favourite)
                        SR -as yet unflown

Hi there and welcome, I would go second hand for your first cp heli, maybe a trex 450se v2? there seems alot about, and a 2nd hand dx6i tx, wouldn't set you back that much

From all the feedback I am getting it looks like the b400 for me then, I will have to keep looking on ebay for a rtf package.
For all the people asking I have a 1050 speed triple which only comes out when the sun shines, so it has a very low mileage.
Thanks to everyone for there comments.
                              Cheers.
