binding to a DX6i

More numpty questions Im afraid....

I have a Genius 450 which came RTF inc TX...anyway as I have a DX6i I put the orginal TX in a cupboard as would prefer to use the better TX so want to bind to the heli , Ive got the bind plug etc and having read 'how to' in the DX manual Im fine with that however as the heli is RTF its all wired up , do I need to take the receiver out and disconnect everything except the ECS plug prior to putting the bind plug in and running through the bind process??

Nope, leave everything connected ready to work, set everything as you want it for defaults (Trims centred, throttle at bottom stick, switches in correct position).

Put bind plug into Batt port (or whatever the port for your Rx) Plug the battery in, turn on the DX6i while holding the trainer switch up.

After a few seconds the DX6i will stop binding and be ready to go, light on Rx should be solid. Unplug the bind plug, turn everything off then on again, done.

just a thought, what RX is in the heli, is it compatable with the DX6i as i know there are different types of 2.4ghz. i am fairly new to this myself so maybe some of the others may be able to add to this.

Just thinking the same as paulcobra. Is it a Spektrum Rx?

cannot see the make but its def not spektrum...Ive emailed the shop to ask the question...bit pants if it doesnt really

Pretty sure non Spektrum Rx won't bind with Spektrum Tx mate

Well, if it doesn't you can pick up an AR6100e or similar from the forum for about £25 posted. I know cos I just did it.

as far as i am aware they will only bind to JR and SPEKTRUM but i am not 100%

Hmmm. well popped out today and brought a Spektrum AR6100 receiver , fitted it , ran through the bind process as above ...light on receiver is now solid BUT on reconnection nothing happens although i can hear the lecy buzz through the heli !?! am I being dumb!?!?

My order above was slightly wrong, bind plug should be left in until battery is disconnected. Although I don't think it makes a difference really?

Its ok ..thanks for response anyway ..fixed it , had the servo connectors in wrong way round!!! oops

any suggestions on TX set up anyone(difficult I know as its not a popular heli)?
