  • clubs in Leicester

    Hello all....
As a beginner im about sorted on which heli to go for and i intend to purchase in the next week or so..( thanks to all that gave me their advise.! ) Another bit of advice that came back several times was to join a club and go alang for a chat before spending my life savings . Is there any clubs or local meets in Leicester and can i get me an invite...?
I wont be too much trouble... promise.

    Thanks, Helipilot.

There are a few.....,the best one being the L.A.R.C.S.. Speak with Bish from this Forum as he flys there with more regularity than I.

          Heya Mate,

Where abouts in Leicester do you live? (I live in Blaby)

There's a good bunch of heli flyers that fly at Peatling Magna (The Leicester Heli Flyers) I intend to join in the next few weeks!..

          Also PM Sent.

There's also Leicester Model Aero Club in Gumley. It's a mixed club but it is the only club I have been a member of where planks and helis actually mix without friction.

Club facilities are spot on (club hut, kitchen, bogs etc.) so flying in the winter isnt a problem. The club owns it own field and has just spent a lot of time and effort in making the flying patch bigger and better. There are regular heli flyers at the field, mainly on a saturday morning.

You can find a contact here Contacts for the helis if you are interested in joining.

Link to Google maps for location. http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&so...05611&t=h&z=18 This is quite an old photo as the bare area on the ground is now level and grassed over

            Cheers,
            James
