trex 600 head into body bearings problem?

Hey all

Im just building my TREX 600 ..body is built and the head however now i have put the head shaft through the bearings and gears the hole which you should put a bolt through the gears through the shaft and secure the other side doesnt line up ... the hole on the shaft seems to be slightly above the hole on the gearing?? Ive checked the bottom of the shaft does sit on the bottom bearing

any ideas??

have you got the shaft the right way up

Possibly the bearing blocks are upside down.

Shaft right way up ... metal bearing blocks look ok , cannot really see if the bottom plastic bearing block is upside down or not but the shaft just sits on top of it rather than in it?...hmmm think this maybe a strip down job!?

Its a brand new build so all parts a new

right m8,
it can only be 3 things
1. main shaft upside down
2. main bearings not pushed all the way in
3. bearing blocks upside down (like downdraft as said)

Cannot really see if the bottom plastic bearing block is upside down or not but the shaft just sits on top of it rather than in it?

I no longer own a 600N but as far as I remember, there is no right/wrong way up for that bottom plastic bearing block so I don't see that being the problem.

Have you tried putting the shaft in without the main gear -will it go all the way down into the bottom bearing? If not, it might be worth loosening the bolts for all three bearing blocks and then inserting the shaft (in case the blocks are not aligned properly).

Take all the fixing bolts out of the blocks and try it

Make sure the two main blocks are in the right way,the bolt heads for the bearing cover on the top mount should be facing down,the bottom one up.

Sorted !!! I think I was having a DOH moment , just loosened all the bolts to the 3 bearings and it dropped in lovely jubbly.... checked alignment and all seems ok now..
