  • raptor 50 not getting signal from futaba unit

Hi i decided over the weekend to dust off the raptor 50 and following the pre flight setup list as given to me when the unit was built, I got to the bit where it said "check all flying controls operate in the correct sense". when i activate any control stick on my Futaba nothing happens on my model no servo moves at all.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to start the fault find.

    Cheers
    Keith

Sorry for not givinng more info, my raptor shows full batt when switched on, i am using a futaba 9cap/9chp. it all worked fine the last time it was switched on, nothing should have damaged it since. the only thing i can think is the last time it was used i went along to a club meet and a really nice guy hooked his control up to mine so i could have a fly of the raptor. i dont know if that makes a difference at all.

        cheers

Sometimes when you buddy up, you remove the crystals from the slave transmitter. Have you checked the crystal in your tranny ?
          Cheers,

a few times when i have buddied up to teach people on the ff9 for some reason after we disconnected the lead then the model resets in the tx and i have had it where the modulation has changed from ppm to pcm or vise versa and this would cause this signal loss to the model just check to make sure this has not happened to yours.

found the problem thanks, the modulation had changed to ppm. Never thought that would alter with buddying up.

Time to order a simulator me thinks.

The modulation has to *be* changed to PPM for the transmitter to work as a Slave. So if you buddy up in future, remember to change it back.
When you alter the modulation from PPM>PCM and vice versa you also have to switch the radio off then on again, for the change to come into effect.
