Would like to share some tips for the beginner or somone who is interested in getting into the hobby!
Find your local club
Scout around your area and see if there is a club nearby, you will sure want to join one at an early stage in this hobby, the advice and help given at the club is invaluble not to mention the social side of things too!, Visit a local club near you, see what they fly and speak to a few members there, Most clubs will give good guidence on your first Visit! never be too affraid to ask questions!
Do Some Research
Some of us have been there, your looking around on the internet or looking at an ad for a helicopter, and your thinking cor! im going to give that a try! but turns out the helicopter is way too hard for a beginner or just not a good helicopter in general and you end up crashing, STOP! This is where you will want to do some research into diffrent models and types of helicopters, Join a few forums ask as many questions as you like, a question is never too stupid! also relating back to the finding your local club, if you have seen what they fly it might be advisable to see if you can get the same, that way they can help give you setup tips and help setup your helicopter for the first time!
Simulators
These are priceless! It is a must get for beginners! there are a few simulators about (Phoenix RC, RealFlight, Reflex, etc) But all will teach you the basic's of flying a model helicopter, and will last you troughout your hobby! from learning to hover, to autorotations and to Full on 3D, It will save you a huge amounts of money in the long run!
The Dreaded Crash
We have all been there, and done it, and still do it! Crashing is a regular occurrence when learning to fly, No If's or Buts it will happen, but this is part of the hobby, and But keep your head high and relax a little after your first crash, evaulate the damage and repair the helicopter, Never think your the only one crashing! because every one crash's Never Give Up! Keep at it and soon enough you will progress and the self satifaction from it will be worth it!
