Help with Telebee gyro.

I've just fitted the Telebee gyro that came with the Dragonus,but I'm not sure if I've got the DX7 TX set right to switch between HH and rate.

I think I've assigned the gyro to the gear switch,but not 100% sure.

The three wire gyro lead is plugged in rudder channel and the other gyro lead with only a yellow wire plugged into the gear channel on the RX.I'm using a 6v BEC to power the RX and the light comes on on the gyro.I keep watching the Finnless video about setting it up,but there doesn't seem any difference when I move the gear switch from "0" to "1" on the TX.It might help if I knew which switch position did HH and which one rate,but as it is I can't see any difference.
The servo moves the same whichever way the switch is,this is making me wonder if I've got the TX set up wrong or the gyro's duff,perhaps using 6v has blown something.

Anyone any ideas or thoughts.

Hold the rudder left or right for a second or two, release the stick, what does the tail pitch slider do?

If it goes back to centre you are in rate if it stays in the position it was in while you were holding the stick its in HH

The telebee gyro is utterly useless - sorry to bear bad news.
You've bought a cracking little heli in the Dragonus - I strongly urge you to put a decent gyro on it for a far more pleasureable flying experience.

I suggest the GY401 with either an HDS-577 or Futaba S9650/S3154 tail servo.

The servo moves back to centre regardless of the gear switch position.It'll finally creap back to centre regardless.Still not sure if it's my TX set up though.

Yes I know I want a 401,but I'm already skint after buying the Heli and DX7 and was hoping the Telebee would at least work,it could be a duff one just thrown in the kit because it wasn't in its own sealed bag.

The thing is I don't want to splash out straight away for a 401 and then find it's me not setting the TX right,The DX7 instructions on setting it up on the gear switch are a bit confusing to me.I've got AUX-2 on HIN and GEAR on Gyro which to me should be right,but I've only had the gear a couple of days and I'm still working my way through it.I haven't got rev mixing set so if the TX is set right I can only presume the gyro is no good.

I thought today would see the blades on and a bit of hovering,oh well.

Looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and get a 401.
Will it be okay off a 6v BEC? I'm hoping I dont have to buy another 5v BEC as well.

Yes, it'll be fine.
It's not the gyro that has issues, it's some tail servos that can only run at 4.8v.
No problems with the gy401.

Great decision, you won't regret it!

Well I bit the bullet and fetched a 401 gyro,I had a little hover after dinner today and the Telebee was not very good,certainly not working HH mode.

I went to Realraptors for the gyro and picked a Phoenix sim up at the same time,just hope I can now save up enough to replace the holiday money I've spent,or her indoors will be after me.

Dragonus seems to be pretty spot on as per the build instructions,blade tracking from what I could see is right on the button,at the moment the head is set up for a beginner learning to hover,suits me for the stage I'm at.
