I was going to post and ask at what point do you lose that overwhelming fear and stage fright you get when you first start flying a proper heli, but I have just reached that point and feel great.
After a lot of sim and MSR time, my Innovator and I have bonded at last and I have stepped up to the next level of controlled take offs, hover, sideways, back and some diagonal flying, as well as not completely panicking at little gusts of wind. That is now 8 whole batteries and no damage.
One thing I found really useful was this site-
RADD'S SCHOOL OF ROTARY FLIGHT?
It gives you a lot of confidence in the close to the ground stuff when things can get a bit hairy. One particular aspect I like is the way to progress.
Put lots of time and thought into perfecting one step, then adding the next step on gradually so you can always reverse things and go back to what is familiar- it seems to work for me anyway
I know I am really at the beginning of this hobby, but the only way is up.
Thanks again for all the advice. I wanted to post my "high"
