Okay, thanks for the replies - although I do feel as if I've just strayed into a long running debate about whether Ade is a Phoenix zealot ?!?!?

Anyway, the link that Robgt kindly posted seems to indicate that Clearview is acceptable for people just needing the basics, like me... which is handy because I already paid the $30. Seems like Phoenix is the way forward as and when I outgrow Clearview.

Has anyone got experience of using the SmartPropoPlus and PpJoy software with an Esky controller? Will it work in 6 channel mode?

    Thanks,
    Mike

P.S. If anyone's thinking that I sound like someone who knows basically nothing about RC heli's, and just got a RTF Honey Bee CP2 off ebay for Christmas, you'd be right - just to give the thread some context

Mike, as the one who wrote the review you'll be ok on Clearview as a sim to prepare you for the honeybee. However, if the hobby bites you and you become serious about it and get a more capable machine then the recommendations for Phoenix are entirely accurate, it's currently the best sim on the market.
