If your budget is £30 I think you should look at something like the Picoo Z range.

They are after all where many of us caught the bug for RC Helis, including me.

      Hey.

Personally I'd add a bit more to your budget than £30 as at this sort of money your not buying an RC heli more a toy.
The Efilte blade is a good starter heli, but with a transmitter nearer £100. My former sponsors CenturyUK sell a good range of entry level heli's, their Nano Neon is about £70 I think from memory.

Depending on where you are I know Midland Helicopters for instance have these type of models floating around the sales counter and can show you them flying and explain the differences.

Unfortunately rc heli's is not a cheap hobby but for a small outlay you can get something quite decent to really get you interested in the thrill of flying.

If it's your first Heli then I would look at second hand Blade mCXs. Plenty on Ebay usually for about £50 to £60.

          Hiya

I bought a Century Spirit at the start, but would not suggest this if you are budget limited initially. I was really pleased with it as it seemed like a "real" helicopter, but not sure if I would go down that route again and would stay small.

It was pretty easy to fly, but did have some crashes and as it is fairly large for what it is, things break even at relatively low impact speeds, needing more cash to buy the spares.

Personally I would get something small as there they tend to break a bit less, whihc could be important on a limited starter budget. ALso bear in mind that the larger Coax beginner helicopters will need more batteries to give you any decent flight time.

I second the idea of going for a used E Flite Blade mCX.
These a brilliant little starter helis and can often be picked up for around the £50 mark.
Well worth spending the extra £20 on.

Yep- if I did it again that is how I would go- it will save a stack of money in the long run as you will not buy all the helicopters on the way to the MSR. The MSR is pretty robust, but more to the point, is a "real" RC helicopter that will take you a long way and give you loads more fun doing it.

Best advice I would say, maybe a msr after this or the sr when it arrives?

Picoo Z has a lot to answer for, Got one as a prezzie a couple of years ago, then got addicted to flying that. Then bought a Blade cx2, great fun. Now I'm learning how not to crash a Blade 400. LOl
