  • Trex 450 sport gyro mounting

Could anyone tell me please where I can put my 401 gyro on my sport? tried the gyro plate that comes with heli, but the gyro is too big and cannot fit under boom, my rx is in the base plate, and due to the wires coming from the servo's thats looks about the only place it can go.
Maybe I can put the rx on the gyro plate plate?, and then the gyro in the base plate? Will this be okay though would seem very close to the motor, just a few cm off it?
Scratching my head a bit with this one

    cheers

Out of interest, what gyro are you using?

            A 401 ya say?

I must admit, I found putting the electronics in my SEv2 a bit tricky. Is there nowhere on the underside of the tail boom mount that you can put it, as is the case on the V2? You can see my 401 in this pic:

As Martin said, there is an issue with lack of space in the 450 sport frame. I'd try your latter suggestion of gyro bottom plate and rx mid rear shelf. I'd be more worried by my gyro's proximity to the ESC - where have you mounted that?

The ESC is under the battery tray, I have just looked again, I could put the rx on the gyro mounting tray, and the gyro underneath? Don't no if the C of G will be affected the gp750 looks a smaller gyro and have noticed that some of you have that underneath the gyro tray.

                thanks

                  Hi Simon,

I mounted the gyro on the bottom plate which worked well. The rx was mounted just in front of the gyro also on the bottom plate.

The gyro plate is used for the align gyro which is a lot smaller.

I have one for sale if you like align 750 that is
                  Cheers Matt

Hi Matt, the best I can do on the gp 750 is a swap for the 401 I'm still on 35mhz rx, its the futaba 146i rx, and it looks a bit tight to get all of the servo leads plugged in, I can do it, but its too far back in the base plate, so no where for the gyro to go. Will have a try at getting it further forward and see if I can sit the gyro behind .
Thanks for sending those couple of bits by the way forgot to PM you.

                    Cheers

That brutal Tried everyway but the right way at the min, looks like the 401 is going to be too big doesn't fit right under the gyro tray, or on the base plate, and doesn't fit under the tail boom....im stumped..

Here is the layout that I use on my Sport and seems to make the heli fairly well balanced.

Pick up a crap gyro for peanuts, sell the 401 for £50-£60.

Do a Px and get 30% off a Quark (if that offer is still on)
