On a trex 700, 0.25mm of clearance in a linkage might be 0.25 degrees of sloppy pitch on the rotor blade.
On a trex 250, there will still be 0.25 mm of clearance, but the heli is 1/4 of the size and there might be 1 degree of pitch slop at the blade.

That explains why the smaller helis have more mechanical problems than the larger ones.

The aerodynamic scaling also makes things more difficult at a smaller size. The vlaumeof disturbed air is larger compared to the size of the heli because the smaller heli is effectively flying in thicker air.
    Hi

    Interesting and informative post!

About flying one, well I have a slightly different take....
I learnt on one of these and I must that they exhibit some pretty big down sides: Very twitchy, repairs are cheap but difficult, bolts on the genuine align kits are dreadful, tail is a bit difficult to set up......BUT.....what a rewarding heli to fly and not intimidating at all.
...and, if you can fly one of these, then you can fly anything.
