  • Hi all - another newbie...

    Hello,

Just started this hobby a month ago and already totally hooked...

First bought a Twister medevac electric which was a lot of fun.
Loads of crashes as well btw....
Then I bought a simulator, Phoenix Rc which I really like and learned a lot from that.

Then made the big jump to buying a secondhand Raptor 30 with Tx and toolbox.
After having it setup, flown it now 3 times without crashing!
I really like it, and working on my figure 8s.

Hope to pick up a lot of info on these forums.

    Take care, Robin.

        Thanx guys,

What really helped me was the simulator.
I found the real thing almost easier than the sim.

I still have a fairly basic JR XP662 Tx with only 3 point curves.
But yesterday I bought a JR X2610 for 60 pounds on ebay, with 5 point curves etc etc. Still only 6 cx but good enough for now!

        Cu, Robin.

Having Phoenix is a bonus for you as it has the most realistic flight physics of them all.
          Cheers,

Well you're ahead of me Robin, Got a Sabre for christmas (i chose it), got hooked built a piccolo CP, sold that, got a simulator but using a joystick, not a transmitter so good for orientation but not for stick feel / layout, and i've just got a Walkera 60 3d which I am setting up as we speak.

I'm totally hooked too! fantastic hobby..

                Hi Trev,

The advantage I had was that I didn't have to build mine.
And I have a lot of spare time....

                Nice chopper btw!

                  Cheers Robin.

Only got the Walkera last night. I won't try to fly it until i'm completely happy. Its OK except the LH collective / cyclic servo has a tooth missing so on full pitch it twitches and messes around with the cyclic. All 4 servos will be new by Friday. (and i've got new blades coming - looks like its had a few bumps)

Otherwise it's a lack of money holding me back. Once the car is through the MOT and Christmas is behind us I'll be saving for a Raptor or similar.

                  Happy Flying

                  Trev.
