  • The differance between Sim & Real

    Hi all

Ok so I got phoenix simulator. I have to modes of flight when using it
Mode 1, This is me trying something new witch will probably end in a crash.
Mode 2, This is me flying my T-rex I am not going to crash………………..

So I’ve been practising like made waiting for the right weather to come along………..
Yes Sunday was nice in Devon low wind sunshine, so I go out to the green behind my house not a sole in sight. I practise hovering .Straight away I notes how much easier my Trex is to hover than the sim Great I thought. Did one pirouette and thought I was going to have a heart attack my heart was beating so hard I could not believe the difference from flying the sim where I’m Completely REALAXED.

But I did have a greet flight in the end when I calmed down.

A Man can live about forty days without food, about three days without water, about eight minutes without air, but only for one second without hope"

The sim affords you FREE crashes - the real world does not
    LOL

When I was last flying indoors, I was trying some figure of eight circuits, I was absolutly knackered at the end of it with the stress. By the end of the night, I was mentaly worn out!... only flew four / five batteries in the Trex in total between 6ish and 9ish.

On the sim and hovering in the back garden, no problems!

I am hoping now I have painted my canopy orange, it will take some of the stress out of it as I should be able to see the heli better against the whitewashed walls!

        Too true!!!

I've been on the sim trying all sorts. Circuits, inverted, nose-on, turns, even occasional successful autos etc,

Went to the field on Sunday........completely bottled it

Flew some more daring jobbies than I used to, but only about 10% of what I had set myself up to do

        Robgt.....must get those lessons in

It's completely different when the red reset button costs real money, there are real people watching and your pride & joy is up there. Also, my helis react differently to those on the sim.

        Is it just me??
