  • All the signs of addiction.............

The dirty deed is done- the MSR is ordered.

This is a true addiction as I have feelings of guilt, am being a bit furtive and getting things delivered to work, and wake up wanting to fly a helicopter. There is no turning back.

Is there a logical stopping point, or does it just carry on?

            Alex,

Yes you are truly already hooked and no, there isn't a logical stopping point.

            The following will happen:

            - You will spend far too much time on forums
            - Part with much too much money
            - Want bigger,faster, better heli's
            - Tell your partner that the parts you need only cost a few quid
            - End up with enough spares to build another heli
            - Wake up thinking about when you can fly again
            - Jump up and down like a silly kid when you hover 1st time
            - Find it difficult to explain to others why you are hooked
            - At times, get very frustrated and angry
            - Wonder why you ever got into this hobby
            - Learn, adapt, become more confident with your skills
            - Find new friends
            - Wonder why you didn't get into this earlier
            - Absolutely love it
            - Never look back

Not an exhaustive list - but I hope it goes some way to answering your question!!

Cheers and Welcome to the madhouse!

It's all over now mate. We're all doomed but you can still save yourself.

You have a quick puff on this crack pipe, you think "yea" I can handle it, I'm in control, and before you know it you're holding up petrol stations looking for cash for your next fix!

If I came round your house and stamped on your MSR just as you took it out of the box you'd probably be a bit upset but by this time next year you'll wish I had!

The MSR arrived this morning, so a big thanks to Skyline Models as I only ordered it yesterday afternoon at 1530

I have only flown 4 batteries so far, but it is way easier than on Phoenix, even on the out of the box settings and no adjustment on the DX6i yet- more to the point it is huge fun and with 4 batteries there is little down time

I struggled for a few minutes getting it to bind to the DX6i as I could find no definitive instructions with the MSR or the DX6i, but got there eventually when I found out you need to hold the trainer switch on the transmitter and it can take up to 40 seconds to bind.

I have pretty much followed all the advice I have found and asked for on this forum, and so far, each step has been money well spent, so thank you all once again and I hope to be able to contribute to some answers in the future as I gain some experience.

                          Cheers
