What electric scale would you put this at? Seeing as the Main Blade diameter is 550mm compared to a Trex250 of 450/460 I'd say this puts this around 300 class (if there is such a thing)??

Looks kind of promising and I reckon RTF it will be about the £150 to make it competitive with the Honeybee Belt CP. What do you reckon Ron?

Think I might get one of these for a laugh

Eflight have cornered this market well and truly with yet another ideal entry model and filled a gap that was there, superb

I dunno about a gap but I think they want to compete against the likes of the Honeybee Belt CP even though that the SR has a seperate tail motor. It's about the same scale/size and I think will be priced about the same.

Ron, out of interest what does running the flybar above the main rotor achieve?

I could possibly be tempted with this one but will most likely wait till I have seen what others have to say about it.

Due in the states mid feb from what I understand and selling RTF at $199 (~£125). I guess with usual mark up we'll be buying the for about £145-150 as predicted

it looks a bit more substantial around the frame and u/c than the cp

Ron, it's a real shame that the Gaui EP100 Pro isn't a little more affordable to buy BNF as I'm sure a lot of people would be flying them now. You're looking at £70 for the plastic head and frame and about £167 for the cnc metal head with cf frame. I think I priced the electronics at about a further £100-150 iirc for brand new decent servos, gyro, esc and rx. I'm sure you could probably get away with cheaper. The upgraded frame should be more around the £120-130 mark to make it attractive to people. So that they're looking at about £220 for a decent BNF 100 sized electric heli.

I was talking to Buzzflyer about the EP100 yesterday and it looks like they're being phased out. If you want something of the same size you have to get the EP200 and reduce the tail boom and rotor. The other similar heli is the Microheli Vortex 200 that Ashley was flying at Crestwood. I reckon for money the EP200 is a better buy as you get motor + esc included and Buzzflyer do a deluxe electronics pack for an extra £129 which has hitec and futaba servos, gyro and battery. So everything you need to fly bar (excuse the pun) the RX.

Not really; the SR is somewhere between the Esky CP2 and King sizewise. The belt cp is same size as the Blade 400/ Trex 450, though not as big as This photo makes it look!

What did they do, use the worlds smallest model?

I think I meant the Honey Bee CP3 as I was looking at one of the Esky helis lastnight that had blade diameters around the same size as the SR and the Belt CP V2 clearly does not.

This isn't a bad plan, as the H200 is higher spec than the EP100 SE Pro, esp the frames (which have some shortcomings on the 100).

The little GAUIs are all pretty modular, and AIUI developed from each other. Before the H200 there was a 'stretch kit' for the EP100 (longer blades, tail boom & belt). The H200 effectively added different frames, plus head & tail improvements.

One other thing. Having been working on EP100 SE Pros, my LHC should me a Blade 400. It seemed lower spec than my EP100 - let alone my later H200. This is perhaps the best thing about a little GAUI - it's probably the smallest proper chopper. ie full CCPM, decent build, and you can fit high spec electrics (CC ESC, Spartan/CSM/etc gyro, etc.)

So I can't see why an H200 shouldn't be converted back and forth between long and short blades. The only chore being that the belt runs round the mainshaft, so takes a bit longer to change.

As you say, though - not paricularly cheap. I guess it only makes much sense if you've got somewhere to fly one regularly.

Here's a video I did of one of mine, over a year ago for use in one of our courses: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kf_GAJTMcHs"]YouTube - GAUI EP100 SE Pro 2008-09-06 MVI_6642[/ame]

It's got the stability flybar weights on, and quite a low headspeed (geared down from standard, CC ESC in gov mode (IIRC)). As you can see, it's fairly manageable, but I'd had a fair few hours on it by then.

Yeah, but that's intended for use with the GAUI 3 axis gyro thing.

From what I recall reading, this isn't too bad - but it's not in the same league as the V-bar/whatever. Eg it has something like 6 pots to set it up.

                              Probably not a cheaper option...
