  • Which cheap CP Heli for learning with?

I'm thinking of getting a cheap RTF CP heli for learning on, but what's my best option?

It seems you can get the HoneyBee CP3 for around £100 RTF, which seems a steal...

Hey mate ...steer clear of the honey bee stuff.....

for 100.00 do you have a sim??

Are you going to be flying inside or out???

        I'm gonna be flying outside

Not got phoenix yet, will be ordering it up soon.

I'm getting a 600 LE, but thinking of getting something smaller, that is CP, RTF, just to toss about and practise.

The worry was of course is that it'll be nothing like the 600 anyway... so maybes you;re right just stick with the sim...

Ok firstly you need to get phoenix or another sim.

And then spend some serious time on it before even attempting your nitro is thats what you wish.

However i would suggest that you get a smaller heli first to practise on maybe a 450 size.A blade 400 is a good place to start the spares are cheap and you could probably pick a second hand one form on here for around 100.00.

Do you have a transmitter ???

But please take my advice as many on here will tell you do not attempt to fly the 600 nitro cause you will either hurt yourself or others...

I do strongly suggest that you also join a local club.

Don't worry, i'm about 6months in now, and i promise to be safe

I have ordered up a dx7 and trex 600LE, but no intention to be flying until summer with the 600. Just want to take my time with the build, and just understand it inside out.

Phoenix is on the list next, and will be ordered soon. Just figured i wouldnt be afraid to crash a CP3 or similar. And just wanted something RTF... didnt want to spend alot

I was advised to start on the Honey Bee FP, robust, cheap spares etc. However, Nitrotek had run out of the FP model so offered me the CP3 for the same price. Not sure if this was a good move as I read that it isn't as easy to fly as the FP model. Would be interested to know why Heliboy advises against them.

I agree 100%, get a sim first, you have the dx7 to use with it.
If you still feel you need to get a cheep heli to learn with and save your 600le look out for a second hand blade 400.
