  • dismantling CX2, but outer shaft proving tough

    hi

I have a bent inner shaft, just want to make sure the outer is not also bent. It doesn't seem to want to come out. I think it should just push out the bottom shouldn't it? I don't want to force it but it doesn't seem to want to come out.

never mind, I got it out. I think because the shaft is ever so slightly bent it made it more difficult.

You are correct. What might be happening is that there is a tiny nick on the shaft preventing it from going through the bearing. Try cleaning it up with some very very fine sandpaper. Perhaps a tiny drop of oil would help too.

The usual problem I get is getting the lower blade stubs off the top of the shaft as when you do the grub screws up it causes a graze in the shaft meaning it won't allow the stubs to slide off.

      EDIT: LOL, too late.
