Has it got a 'jack' socket on the back for a sim lead?

yes i got a lead that powers it up from laptop but none of the sims i tried seen to recognize the controls, with my luck i will have the only make of hand set that works with nothing lol. the lead fits in the hole marked trainer then goes to the laptop but even windows cant configure the transmitter, is it ment to be this hard.

You have to calibrate it manually in Phoenix from what I can remember.

Phoenix is usually pretty good at telling you if it doesn't recognize the signal from the tx (it'll say "plug in the tx", or words to that effect).

If that works, run the calibration thing, and you should be able to see bars move on the screen when and only when you move the controls.

If /that/ works, move an individual control (rudder, for example) and only one bar should move. Try elevator (usually, right stick forwards and back), if more than one bar moves then you probably have ccpm mixing switched on; either switch it off with one of the dipswitches (I'd guess), or Phoenix used to have a CCPM demixer built in, which could theoretically be trained to understand your radio.

              Hope that helps, Neil.

i seem to remember that fms uses your sound card to recognise tx outputs there is a small file you need to d/l ill see if i can find it

just to clear this up when i got my Twister 3d storm i asked in midland helicopters if the transmitter would work with a flight sim and he assured me it would but before i left the store i made sure he got a transmitter out the box and tried it on a couple of sim's and guess what it didnt work.

Have a look in the battery compartment under the batteries, they maybe a bank of dip switches which disable ccpm mixing etc.

If there is make a note of their positions and try flipping the switches one by one, it may enable the TX to work with a sim.

                        Hope it helps.

For a TX to work with Phoenix it needs to output a PPM signal. I converted a Reality craft one by picking up the PPM signal and connecting it to a socket the Phoenix lead plugs into, still had to plug the TX's usb lead in to supply power to TX.

ok that sound a bit complicated and there are no dip switches in the back.
