  • MSR Trimming help

I managed to break the blade grips on my new MSR. Up until that point everything was going well. The MSR would almost hover with little input on the controls (standard TX)
Now I cannot get it to trim properly. Everything is connected correctly.
It will take off and start to fly backwards in a big circle. No matter what I alter on the tx trim buttons, it has little effect.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Can you post a close up picie of the head and swash so we can see what might be the problem.

Did the little prong on the back of the swash pop out of its guide forks? Sometimes happens when you have a largish 'down'.

        Thats what I was thinking.
Or the swash may have separated slightly and may need squeezing back together with the levelling tool.
Also, make sure the flybar can move completely freely. Any binding will cause a TBE effect, which may be what you are describing.

New blade grips and feathering spindle fitted c/w bushes and o rings.
When looking from the rear of the heli, should the servo arms be roughly level with each other?

Yes the servo arms should be roughly level but don't forget the mSR's center shaft has a lean to the right so the servo arms will not necessarily line up with the top of the cowling.
Once again I cant stress how important it is for the flybar to be able to move VERY freely. You should be able to hold the heli in one hand and while gently rocking it, the flybar should flop around quite loosely.

Hi Baggy....there is a new forum dedicated to the mSR.
You will find lots of interesting info on this flighty little micro-heli.

Flybar is nice and floppy!! )
Just about to adjust servo arms to see if this helps.

Looks like the flybar wasn't loose enough!! Took all the blade assembly apart and I had 2 o rings on the feathering bar one one side and 1 on the other.
                      All good now!
Thanks for the replies. All really helpful.

Baggy, Just check you have not pushed the link rods past the balls. I did this on one of the links and ended up with the problems you are having.
