  • Walkera 5g6-1 - Whistling

    Hello

This is my 1st heli which i opened last night and after the contoller syncs with the heli it ommits a whistling sound from the right handside.

    Is this normal?

    Thanks

Hmmm from the heli or the tx?

If the heli not sure if this normal unless the motor is trying to turn or it could be the rx/bec.

    !Update!...

This is a known problem and it seems the noise comes from the motors when the tx throttle is either at min or very low. This can it seems damage the motors and in some cases burn out the rx/bec.

Thanks for your replys i had a look at that and then another good look at the heli, im pretty certain that the noise is coming from the black box above the battery which the tail is connected too (servos i think!) It certain starts as soon as the heli connects and the blue swash plate adjusts, this is always slanted so could that be caused by the servo slightly running? If i give a small amount of throttle i can hear the motors start to whistle.

If it is the sevo is it just a case of them being faulty or is there something i can adjust?

        Thanks

Hmmmm Not sure servos give out a buzz rather than a whistle but I could be wrong as I've never had one of these helis. Does it go when you spool up? It just be what beerdeor suggested?

Yep, the "Walkera whine" is perfectly normal. It's coming from the servos. Don't worry about it.

Can't really tell over the noise of the rotors.

Normal? Dam thats quite loud, is it pot luck? Surely they all can't do it?

Am i right in assuming the swash plate should be level?

              Thanks
