Seeing as your possibly buying the servo from us if you want to post the heli to us we will fit it for you at no extra cost other than the cost of posting it all back. We will also give it a test to make sure it's all working correctly too. If you want to go with this just include a copy of this post along with your address and phone number and we will get it sorted by return

Fiercebadger, before jumping to conclusions that it is the servo completely knackered why don't you post a closeup picture of the 5-in-1. You even said the motor is spinning but not driving the servo arm up and down.

One of my own servos on the MSR doesn't work at the moment and all it is, is the large servo gear that is driven by the servo motor pinion drives has popped off the bottom and is somewhere in the flat. As far as I know these gears aren't sold seperately and I'll have to buy a new servo aswell but it's just a matter of popping off the large gear off the new servo and putting it onto the servo mounted on the 5-in-1.

If the large gear/cog is is still present but the servo motor is not driving it up and down it could be stripped or it might be the pinion. Try rotating the large wheel by hand to see if it drives up or down. If rotating the large gear by hand doesn't drive the arm up/down then the worm gear inside is knackered and you will have to replace the whole unit. Which would surprise me seeing as the worm is metal and the plastic slider is about 2.5mm long so it would take a fair bit of force to strip this bit of plastic.

Trevor, that's a fantastic offer. I'll leave it up to FierceBadger what he wants to do.

Does anybody else usually find that if they lose something that they usually find ithat said item when they lose another item?

I just lost a servo mounting screw off the Blade400 and when searching for it I found the MSR gear that drives the worm gear/drive.

Here is the picture and the refound part:

Cheers guys, what a top bunch of guys and soooo helpful, thank you very much.

Darryl, servo cogs are both there but not spinning each other, even though the motor is spinning constantly, although if I put the right lever nearly full to the left, it stops (cant adjust enough on the trim and it doesnt move the bar anyways)? I really dont get it????

Trevor, if that is ok with you, I will get it sent on Monday to you via special delivery, also fancy some CNC parts, so could work out well. Thank you very much for the offer, very generous, although I am hopeless at flying at the minute, so you will make money on parts for this and my next heli ;-)

Brian, thank you for your kind offer, but will go with Trevors offer, no offence is meant, it just makes more sense.

                Thanks again everyone, much appreciated!

No problem. As you say, it makes more sense to go with Trevor's very kind offer. Let us know how it works out.

So let me get this straight the little pinion gear on the end of the servo motor isn't spining the larger gear? Has it stripped any teeth?

By the way, when you lose the larger gear the servo motor will continuously as it's constantly trying to find it's location. I'm guessing that within the worm gear the slider generates some sort of variable resistance and this is how it knows which direction to drive the motor. So if the worm gear isn't motor it will constantly drive trying to seek that position. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong because I'm taking a stab at how it works.

                      Msr

Thanks agai Darryl, what you have said is happening is correct, I think a tooth may have been stripped, so off to Trevor tomorrow to get it sorted

                      Cheers.

Sounds like a job that could easily be done at home if motor is fine and it's only the pinion or gear that is damaged then it's just a case of removing them and taking them off the new servo.
