  • Raptor 30 tail servo mount.

    Hi all.

Been lurking here a while and got to say what an excellent forum it seems to be.
I am in the process of building a rappy 30 v2 would it best to mount the servo on the tail boom with the mod. or go with the standard place to put it?
    I am gonna be using a GY 401 + 9254

    Thanks Andy.

there ya go got there before me wouldn't spend any more on a rear mount though as you'd not notice the difference at your stage of the game.. just make sure you get the wire rod lined up correctly... make it a smooth action..... bit like myself
        cheers Lee

If it ain't broke fix it until it is

They sell the mod because people will buy it

I use a boom mounted servo with a carbon rod to the tail pitch slider, its claimed to be a more positive linkage but to be honest the standard rappy system works fine and the new titan set up is better

Boom mounted servos are more likely to get damaged in a crash and get very mucky from exhaust residue

I never did the tail push rod upgrade and the machine behaved very very well I didn't see the point in the change as the others said no real advantage apart from a Mucky Servo and the chance of breaking it.

I DID the tail servo boom mount with the carbon push rod conversion and the tail felt nice but the servo gets soaked in oil, I have my servo mounted on the titan tail mount (on the frame) on the opposite side so it does not get covered as much.

Like everybody says there is no performance difference between the two.
