Hi as my thread says i am trying again let me explain.
My first heli was a $299 dollar dragonfly i bought from america,it was useless for starters when i connected the battery up the rotors turned slowly backwards and smoke came out of it,on investigation the battery was incorrectly wired never got a flight to remember from it.
Next i went more expensive with a £250 6ch walkera 60 with all the extras thinking more money more easy to fly NO i was wrong it was mental twitcy too fast i could not get to grips with it, hovering was almost impossible it would just shoot off i could not correct it so after much effort and repairs i sold it £50.
Gave up for a while then i know its sad but last xmas got a pico z flew it like a pro round my living room.
Two weeks ago got a bladez 3D and wow took it outside hovers ace can fly it easy but i find its crawls though the air when going forwards but i am all fired up again and want to go better.
Now i want to jump in and get a blade 400 or something like it but though my errors i know it would all end in tears again so correct me if i am wrong but i need to go 4ch fixed rotor to get some experance in.
I was looking at Walkera 4G1B 2.4G RC Helicopter
or ESky Honey Bee V2 2.4G --- BuzzFlyer UK as both say they are a good next step.
I have been trying to do this hobby a few years now and have been knocked back alot i know they need skill but i think i jumped in to complex with my walkera 60.
Any ideas and thanks for reading my life story so far in rc helicopters.

Forget Walkera.

The Blade 400 is a good intro to single rotor ccpm helis. You could always get a blade msr for starters; a cheap single rotor indoor model and see how you get on.

Welcome to the forum, the first thing to consider is your budget and of you have any existing "useful" equipment.
The Blade 400 is by all accounts a very good heli and you could do a lot worse than that.
A simulator will help you in the learning process, Phoenix is recognised as the best on the market so it would be worth getting that if you haven't already.

Hi thanks for the replys budget about £250 but i want something able to fly outside and not too pricey so i can get it up there without worrying about crashing also i dont want to go overcomplex again to start off but also not too simple like my bladez 3d .

Hmmm. It'll be interesting to see the responses to this one, given you cash limitation. Big problem is that there are no short cuts round the learning curve really - unless you are miraculously gifted right from the start.

Minimum spec to success could be an mSR, loads of time on Pheonix - then a Blade 400.

The shorts cuts always seem to eventually be the expensive route judging by much of what you can read here and elsewhere.

this is not a personal recommendation merely pointing out the for sale thread. due to your short time and lack of posts you would have to pm the seller if your interested

Blade400 or it's cheap sister the Twister Storm. The advantage of the Blade is that you get the Spektrum DX6i, with the Storm RTF you'll get some cheapo TX. However it is 139gbp RTF compared to 289gbp. You could hunt around the internet and buy a 2nd hand DX6i for around 55-65gbp.

The ad Boggy pointed to is worth having a thought as it has everything covered. That is phoenix for you to try with your dx6i. You will get a feel of how different sizes of heli in the sim. One you tried them, you can set the blade up and running with some help here. It will save you in the long run if you can try flying other helis before spending more. However, I'm not sure what is the condition of the sale item, just merely suggesting based on your budget.

its such a shame that people (including me) get into this hobby by buying crappy esky and walkera helis because they type in rc heli on ebay and thinkthat its cheap and only a toy how hard can it be and then crash it because its impossible to fly and then give up. I think these helis should be taken of the market.

If you are really keen on taking up this hobby long term, I would buy once and buy right. which means also forget the b400. My advice would be a trex 450 pro or sport if you want that size or even better a big nitro for the stability.

Andy, all depends on the budget but I guess it's better to carry on saving until you have the correct budget.

I'd like to see how the Trex 450 is constructed and whether it's any easier to repair. Just had to do a belt change on the Blade and what fun that was.

Don't whatever you do go for one of those horrible cheapo options, They are a waste of money I know I went that route as well to begin with and What a mistake that was (Take a look at my signature)
Your Bladez 3d is a contra rotator heli. These are great fun and an excellent starting point. BUT they are far removed from the sort of single rotor helis that will fly successfully outdoors.
These take a great deal of practice to get to grips with and I would strongly advise getting yourself a copy of the Phoenix simulator first.

The deal that V70R has on offer may be worth taking a look at, but that's your decision.

I eventually after much disappointment and failure with my Walkera went for a Thunder tiger MD530 and what a difference. Its a brilliant beginners heli
It wasn't cheap but well worth it in my opinion as after some sim practice I was able to fly it with a great deal of success pretty much straight away.

Good luck with whatever you choose. but do listen to the advise given here on the forum. These members have been there and done that, so are well worth listening to

For what it's worth, I am a beginner too.... and came on here to skip some of the mistakes beginners make and to get good advice...

I ended up with exactly what the guy above is selling.... Blade 400, Spektrum DX6i, Phoenix. So That sounds like a good deal... only wish I had seen it before.

But bought some of the pieces off here and therefore hope to have a good time with them

Hi again lots to think about here.
Never thought about the simulator always thought theres no better way to learn then getting it up in the air and seeing what happens,is pheonix really that good a learning aid?
Also i will look into V7OR deal just hope i can manage it.

start off with a good tx eg dx6i or dx7i & a copy of pheonix .
Then everytime u crash put in £2:00 in a tin u soon get some money for a heli & at the same time u are training yourself to fly win win
