  • Attaching Engine + Muffler

Hi all, just a quick question as I found this a bit odd but the Century manual says to join the engine and muffler together using ThreadLock Normal (not perm). It doesn't mention at all about using a gasket. Is this method alright for mounting a muffler to an engine as I would of thought it would of needed a gasket and gasket glue to attach it. Any help would be appreaciated.

    No need for a gasket.

Epoxy will do the job though, a light smear around will be fine.

I always use a bit of si;icone sealant on the gasket but 30m epoxy will do a good job as well... gaskit isnt always needed...

I have an Alu gasket on my 50 hyper in the Raptor and used to use a smear of silicone with my old OS32 - both work fine as does not using one at all (on all my planks).

Lol at using clear silicone sealant. Reminds me of some of the old bangers I've seen

Ok will try running without as I don't have one and the engine might be shot anyway. Afaik it won't cause any damage, just run noisy if there isn't a good seal between the mounting flange right?
