  • Twister Storm Gyro?

I have a Twister Storm 3D heli that I am very pleased with. The only problem is that I cannot get the tail to hold in HH mode.It is fitted with the stock gyro(HL400) which I believe is the same as the Blade 400.Could someone give a definative setup routine for this gyro. The Tx I am using is the Spektrum dx6i.I amalso very much a novice and am still only practising hovering.

I've had 3 storms and the gyro doesn't perform as you would like it to !
First tip remove the boom & wrap tape around the end which fits into the boom block that should stop any belt tension/boom slip problem,
then normal procedure, centre servo, hover in rate mode, adjust connecting rod so she head holds, go back to HH mode and watch it creep about for a few flights.
Second tip write a note to Santa asking for a better performing gyro

I take it that a gain on the TX of 1-50% is rate mode, 51-100% is heading hold mode?
Well that's the way I've been doing it I haven't tried adjusting my pushrod like tihs yet so might have to give it a go.

So is the idea you stick it into rate mode with low gain (say 1%?) and then take off and manually input rudder/yaw or use trim until you are holding direction. Then land the heli, measure the throw distance and increase/decrease the length of the pushrod to match?
