    LiPo powered starter,
    NiMh powered glow stick,
    Manual fuel pump,
    Bottle of fuel,
Ickle plastic box with a few tools and spare plugs in.

What more do you need at the field?

An 18 or 24 inch plastic toolbox from B&Q or somewhere will be more than adequate.

But if you want to splash a load of cash on a RC-specific flight box (like the one I've got BTW) then carry on, but it's benefits are limited.

Whatever you think is best - consider the stuff that you actually have to take flying with you, not the gear that you can leave behind at home.

Having read a BMFA Safety Bulletin I have fitted a little "shelf" to the bottom of my box that my fuel container rests on, held in place by a webbing strap.

I mounted the fuel pump on the outside of the box too. You can kinda see what I've done in this picture:

Fuel and electricity/batteries don't go well together, especially on a hot day at the field.

Do yourself a favour when building the nitro and include an on-board glow and also for engine starting get an Align Superstarter. This way you don't need to carry heavy batteries, power panels, wires etc when going flying, just the heli, fuel, Tx and starter. :-)

                      Don't forget your loctite/CA.
A pitch gauge is sometimes handy to have with you and your glasses.

Quite agree, although I have one, LOL. The other option as long as you dont have a 90 size machine is a normal starter with an old 11.1v Lipo cable tied to it,(sort of thing used in a 450 heli) worked fine for me for quite some time. I also agree with the keep it simple supid (kiss) idea, nothing worse than having to cart half a dozen bit's and bob's to the flight line. The onboard glow is a must, it makes for easy flight line starts on those chilly cold Sunday mornings.

just purchased an onboard switch glow from a forum member that had it up for sale, so thats one thing out of the way, looking at the align starter on fast lads just now and as i already have a 450 heli then i've got a few batteries lying around so may be tempted by one of these plus i'm sure i'll end up getting a few more nitro heli's as time goes on so this could be a worthyu purchase,
just need a fuel and a pump now and i think i'm covered for everything for my build, who knows all going well i could have this up and running for the weekend..
Any recommendations on fuel for a OS 50 hyper as i'm gonna be putting in an order with fast lads later on tonight or tomorrow so be aswell order some fuel while i'm at it..

An i thought my buggies were expensive.. lol...
