  • Futaba S9650 and 401 Gyro

This may seem like a stupid question, but I'm going to ask anyway! What with all this talk of different pulse width's and stuff

Can I set the 401 to Digital Servo if I'm running a S9650??

    Thanks

You would have to, the 9650 is a digital servo.

I know but some digital servo's don't work with the 401 because of the pulse width or something I was reading a thread yesterday and can't find it now. As the 9650 isn't the servo which is paired with the 401 I wasn't sure if it would be ok.

        Ahh.

Well I hope they do work with each other properly, as I am waiting for a 401 and 9650 to arrive for my TREX.

It seems to be recognised as a common combination for TREX's however.

          Hi

You don't have to set the 401 to digital mode to use it with the 9650 but there is no reason not to either as it will work a little faster and a lot better.
The only compatibility issue is with JR digital servo's on Futaba gyro's, for some reason the Futaba gyro's make the servo kick hard over on start up, past any preset on points so you risk damaging the servo or linkage.
The 401 with 9650 is the dogs do dars on the T Rex!

          Cheers

Would you set the delay to 0 as well then?

            Thanks

yep DS mode will be fine with the 9650 shouldn't do any harm, try the 0 delay also, I found that with a tiny amount of delay it softens the stops on piro's but makes it feel slightly vauge around center
              cheers Lee

If it ain't broke fix it until it is
