  • Radio Gear 2.4Ghz or 35Mhz???

Hey folks in the market for a tx and just wondering if there's any benefit of going with 2.4Ghz,

i use futaba 2.4 FASST in all of my buggies but was wondering is there any real benefits in going with this for the heli's as there's some good deals on ebay at the moment on some top 35Mhz systems,

Or should i spend the extra pennies and get a 2.4Ghz system??

Is the range much different between the 2??

your thoughts and reasons on this please..

    cheers

    Rudi..

I have used 27Mhz gear then moved on to 35Mhz and never once got shot down or knowingly suffered from static.

All the clubs I have visited run a peg board and it is only the most forgetful who would turn on without first securing their channel.

More and more places now accept however that with the 2.4G system you are very unlikely to have interference from another user and those few forgetful people are not going to have any affect either. You will be able to go anywhere and not have to worry if you can get a free slot. If there is no free channel so to speak your tx and rx won't link up but you won't affect those already switched on.

You already know the benefit of using 2.4G. I would suggest you stick with it. For helicopters range is not an issue.
