its something that is used to do serious damage to engines.

you take the glow plug out, put that in its place then tighten the fan onto the crank.

the tool then punches a nice hole in the top of your piston.

bin it before your tempted to use it!

yer its used to lock up your engine(maybe permanently ) to screw on the fan and clutch, like ade said good for buggering your engine not much else
the best thing is to eject it, if you need to lock the engine up for that purpose, get a proper crank locking tool where you take the backplate off, second to that a soft ish (not brittle) tooth brush handle in the intake(you have to take the carb off)
              cheers Lee

If it ain't broke fix it until it is

I think some one at MDS designed them, Only for use on Mds engines as you cant make them any worse than they are direct from the box

I've been using a piston locking tool similar to this for years on 30 to 90 sized motors and never damaged an engine yet.

But, I can see how it's far from ideal so am going to invest in a couple of crank locking tools anyway.

They are not brilliant because they put stress on every critical point on your engine rather than a toothbrush down the crank hole which only loads the front part of the crank which its designed for
