I have a Radeon X1300 Pro and everything is maxed up including smoke and stuff and it runs a treat.

This is my first time flying anything, managed to take off a lane and land it ok, the heli's are really difficult, for me anyway.

The reason I got the sim was because I am swinging between a plane or a heli.

I have a high wing trainer in my garage, built 3 years ago, but not flown yet. Just wanted a toy I could get into.

    But heh, what fun !!!

my old 9600pro with 256 runs it very nicely. you dont need a 100ukp card to run phoenix.

yes all updates are free. All current sims are being shipped as 1.02 with all the models accept the 2 trex's.

Assuming they don't fly the same?
Is it pre set for diffo heli characteristics/ size?
          I.e. in my case a raptor 50?
Or are the settings for a raptor set as one, but for the user to set?

all the models fly differently. the synergy has 2 different canopies but thats the only duplicate.

the buzzard is pretty close to a raptor. Proper raptors are on their way but we need high quality photographs from certain angles.

              We?
              Have I missed something?

Does it not show a Raptor then?

there is a model in the sim called the buzzard which looks remarkably like the raptor.

if you have a good camera you could have YOUR model in the sim.

                  Ade,
Is there a guide as to what angle pictures need to be taken to be used in Phoenix on the models?
Or will this all come out when the model editor (ADK) does?
                  Cheers,
                  Rob

                    But why buzzard ?
                    That I don’t understand?
                    Why not call it Raptor?

I have a good digi camera I use yes, well I think it is?

I can take pics of my heli.
In the sim are you saying it can incorporate those into the graphics or not?

Not in the sim - yet.
They are working on a model editor application (ADK) which should help you in creating your own models for the sim though...

                      Cheers,

                        Sounds good ....
                        But
I still don’t understand the Buzzard bit
Assuming I’ve just bought a Raptor copter (which I have) I’ve then bought a Sim to fly my Raptor
So why call it a Buzzard ?
How would I know its ta one to pick
Why not just call it Raptor ?

I am using an otherwise neglected Futaba 6exa with Phoenix and would appreciate some help in setting up the controls in the sim for use with the T-Rex.
I can control the T-Rex but I would like to tone it down a little to simulate the heli as it would be set up for someone (like me) migrating from something like a blade CP. The 6exa does not have any pitch or throttle curve settings and playing with the curves in Phoenix did not seem to allow me to reduce the head speed. An obvious solution is to use my heli capable radio but I would really like the ability to use the 6exa in the simulator if possible.

Any suggestions on the following would be appreciated:
                              1. What are the correct settings in the control profile editor for setting throttle and pitch curves.
                              2. Can Phoenix simulate an idle-up switch through a keyboard or mouse input?
                              3. What is the best way in Phoenix to drop the T-Rex hovering head speed down from 3000rpm to something closer to 2200rpm.

as the 6exa doesnt heli stuff you arent going to get full fuctionality. so to get idle up you have to loose normal mode. but you can still get throttle hold.

what you do is use the basic 4 channel profile then assign the throttle hold function to channel 5 and untick the "governor throttle cut off" tick box.

make sure that throttle and pitch are assigned to channel 3.

this will make it so the governor stays engaged even at zero throttle. then channel 5 will make it idle for doing autos.

if you go into "edit model" you can drop the headspeed there.

At the moment the exact pictures we need hasnt been made public. this makes sure they dont get flooded with low quality unuseable pictures. If you have an 8mpix camera drop me an email/pm/msn and i will tell ya what they need.

the reason the buzzard is called a buzzard is down to copyrite permissions.
