  • Recommendations on starting an IC Engine

Does anybody have any recommendations on starting an IC engine without a clutch bell & lining, clutch shoe and fan attached. I'd like to give my .32 engine a bench test but I don't have the replacement clutch from century yet as I only ordered it this morning. I don't expect it will arrive in tomorrows post but I'd like to give the engine a test over the weekend to determine if I need to replace the engine which I'll order in the week if it's knackered.

Sensible way to do it is to attach it to a solid bench like a WorkMate and put a propellor on it - a 9x6 would be about right for that engine. Set it up with a fuel tank and a metal rod attached to the throttle arm and away you go.

    Something like this looks good.
