I would definitly go 500, they hold up better in the wind. On the weekend in slough, a number of us should be done on the field.

Ok, before I make any decision I plan/hope to do two things.
1. Visit somewere like Skyline Models or Sussex Models and have a closer look at the 450 and 500 and discuss the costs of building and owning each model.
2. Try and visit the Slough club (SRCMC) and speak to some of the heli flyers and have a closer look at the helis.
After a brief thought of going for a Blade I have dropped that idea as I want to build the model to get a better feel for how it goes together and works.
Then I guess I'll have to make a decision, I reckon I'll probably get the kit sometime December/January or possibly late November.
Then its building time.
Also, I have joined the BMFA as well and plan to try and get along to the indoor session at Twickenhan on the 14th Nov if things work out ok.
Thanks again for all the advice and comments its been very useful getting such a good lot of feedback.Andy

Was driving past High Wycombe earlier and decided to pop into Skyline models for a bit of a nose around.
Had a look a the 450 and 500 helis and had a chat with one of the guys there. Have a better idea of the size comparisons now and also started to get a good idea of the costs associated with building the 500.
So all thats left now is to try and get along to the slough club to see them in action.
But the 500 is definitely the front runner at this stage.
