FlightPower of Kokam packs on the Trex?

Raptor 30, got a couple at our club that seem to go on all day - pain as our patch is not all that big.
    Clones are bad

    .... that includes Align ones

Trex will last probably 10 minutes on 3S, 7 minutes on 4S.
30 nitros I've seen flying for 20 to 25 minutes

      Cheers,
      Rob

                  Hmm
Trex 600 (50 size machine) will do about 7 to 8 minutes on a flight running a 10 tooth pinion
Up the pinion to 11 tooth and you're down to 4.5 minutes, but tons of power...

                  Cheers,

About 1 hour with current chargers give or take 15 mins...

Always have a 2nd battery is my advice on these beasts go with both
charged fly one stick it on charge chat for a bit fly then get that one charging.

Thing is someday we will all need generators to Recharge the dam li-po's
at this rate... I mean one day all flying sites may even need there own substation for chargers

Depends on the packs you use.
Most packs you can only chanrge at 1C (1 times capacity) and they will take an hour to fully charge.

Kokam HD can be charged at 3C and will therefore charge in 20 minutes. You need the BalancePro charger to do this.

                        Cheers,

Is it not possible to fit an alternator to these helis for longer flight time?

Irvine used to do an onboard charger for their Hirobo scale models, this was only really designed to top up the receiver battery and one for any scale lights or moving parts you may also have installed on the model. They also did an onboard starter motor kit, again for scale glow powered models.

I havent seen these products since Ripmax and Irvine combined, but I assume they are still available, most other products they did still are, so I dont see any reason why these wont be.

For ease of flying and particularly for learning where you will really benefit from getting as much stick time as you can on each visit to the field, I think you would be far better off going for a 30 size IC model, as all you need to worry about is a receiver battery, which if you top it up after every other flight, can be fully charged in about 10 minutes. All that remains to be done then is fill the fuel tank and go fly.

I have seen 30 size models stay airborne for 20 odd minutes on a single tank before now, these tend to all have pretty standard mufflers and something like an OS32 engine, which whilst it isnt the most powerful engine in the 30 size class, it also doesnt use as much fuel as the more powerful ones.

                              Cheers,
                              Pete.
