might be looking at gettin a different 450 size heli
    was thinking one of these:
    trex 450 sport super combo
    trex 450 pro super combo
    beam e4
will probably not be until after xmas when i have saved up etc
which would be best to get?
so next question is is there anything in the 450 class coming out soon thats worth waiting for?

I think the higher quality kits are all very capable so its mostly down to personal preference.

Im sure that by christmas there will be some new kits out, but I dont know what.

Im very happy with my 450 PRO, but the Sport and E4 are also nice helis.

Agreeing with Holst.. All the top end 450 helis are very capable and fly very well. You may want to look into other factors, such as the initial outlay, the spares availability and cost of spares.

The Beam has been a pretty tough heli, and spares backup and cost is good from Evorc. Obviously the Align range, spares availability are probably going to be the best out of any helicopter.

You've probably read my little review on the 450 Sport, and will know my preference out of the PRO or Sport.

Haven't heard of any new 450 helis coming into the market.. but who knows. Whatever comes out, has really got to be backed up by the seller/distributor, and tbh, for anyone whos going to equal or top align in the UK market have a tough job.

450 pro is very a good heli but for beginner need to be careful not to catch tail blades can cause TT gears to strip.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

What electrics do you have at the moment?

If your electrics are decent then you might not need the align servos and gyro that come in the kit.

I bought a second hand PRO and transplanted my electrics over.

Get the 450 Sport. By the time you have bought a second hand v2 airframe and kitted it out, you could have bought a brand new Sport.

I prefer the look of the Pro (which I have) but its a few ££ more, but flies the same as a Sport apparently.

Remember the V1 & V2 are no less the superb machines they were before the Pro model came out, I have no doubt it flys better under heavy 3D, but I was little impressed with general build with the one I handled in Inwoods the other month, but hey what do I know, lol.

If you go for a Trex I can help you all I can, personally I'd wait till a mint S/H V2 comes on the market all RTF, at the right price it'll be a super bargin.

we'll see, i might well get a sport but then again if a perfectly good v2 comes along at the right price i might just have to buy it
if i do get something i will need to:
                        1. get a saturday job
                        2. save some money
i could go and get something now (just) but would rather get some cash in and get something when i have a bit and then i would also have some cash for spares etc

I enjoyed my V2 when I had it, and I'm sure that there are some good bargain s/h prices out there.. especially when the pro was released, and now the Sport.

It does fly very well, and imo it is alot better than the blade 400, which I have also owned. My V2 was fitted with a scorpioon -8 motor, and it still does not compare with how the standard trex sport flys. The sport is more stable, like the Pro,and with the supplied motor, it is not short of power.

Quality wise, it is typical Align, and no better or worse than their current offerings. Although looking very similar to the V2, I have read that the swash is bigger than the V2, and has more of a similar geometry to the Pro, which may explain why it flies more like it. Tail box looks a bit more rugged, and it doesn't run the 'stupid' idler pulley like the v2. The Rotorhead although looks the same as the V2, it also runs the wider hub therefore giving it a bit larger overall rotor diameter, also similar to the Pro.

so in a nutcase are you saying that the sport is a miz between the pro and v2 and that it would be a better purchase due to it being more stable

If a Trex sport is within your budget, I would most definitely get a sport over the V2.

Still think that it flies very close to the Pro, and I personally don't miss the torque tube one bit!
