    Was thinking of buying this:
Phoenix Flight Simulator and Esky 6CH Transmitter From Heliguy.com

Will get me started, and comes with a transmitter.

Otherwise, yes, my heart is set on a DX7

Plenty of pic's of the velocity build here.

Velocity 50 - RcHeliaddict Members Gallery

And some vids floating about....I loved the NSP until I needed to replace bearings - dampners - ball links. Time will tell if the Outrage has that same sour taste - but my initial feelings are that it won't.

Can't make any comment on their Tx since I haven't used it. Whatever Tx you get make sure please it is the right mode - if you're right handed, as most people are, then you'd want throttle on your left.

I 'll try and put a link for your on various modes and what they mean.

          Cheers

Yeh I'd second that. Phoenix is a fantastic sim, you'll find many here online daily!

If you're sure this hobby is for you then it makes sense to go straight to the TX that you'll use. You'll save cash buying the sim without a cheapo TX (I know, I have it!) and gain familirity your TX from the get go. The DX7 is a good choice.

Welcome aboard and I hope that, whatever decision you make, you enjoy building and flying.

Just one word. Whatever you get, make sure the spares are readily available and then don't stock any yourself. So long as Fast Lad get me my crash spares the day after I order them, I see little or no point in holding a large stock. It's my version of LEAN...
