    Hi Martyn

I've noted similar occurences on mine and it has been observed on this and other fora that the radio gear is a crock - I think the radio is the weakest link and would suggest you invest in some good gear to put in it and this will stand you in good stead for later heli purchases which the Walkera gear is not up to. You can check that the motor leads from the Rx ESC don't run near the aerial or other servo leads and maybe put a ferrite ring on the ESC lead.

      Prophetic words

      - after test flying my TREX 600 this am I felt inclined to give the Walkera 36 a spin - mounting a 1500 3S lipo to the front - not elegant - but the beast flew beautifully - rock steady hover - no problem at all in weight lifting with big lipo - all well until gust of wind necessitated quick extreme right cyclic correction - I couldn't believe what happened next - look carefully at Tx picture - right stick absolutely jammed hard right - heard of that happening in a full sized aircraft but never in a model Tx !! Tough little buggers though only a few sprung ball links and some dings in the blades - problem now is whether to fork out for an ESC and plonk some spare Futaba gear in - or else I could fix the Tx stick (with a hammer)

Can't you use the Tx you use for the 600 and the Sceadu 50 on this thing?
        That one looks, well, horrible
        (Oh yeah, and stuffed! )
        Cheers,

I've been seriously trying to write off the Walkera so I can take the gear out and put it in a park plank (Funtana) but I guess it's safer to keep it in low hover - to use the Futaba Tx I'd have to buy another receiver and I'm not sure it's worth - case of good money after bad !

you sure?? i know the electrics arn't the best but its just a rx and ESC all in one, it should take an inputs from an non walkera transmiter..shouldnt it?

Nice idea Brian - tried it - remodulated the Futaba 9HCP super to PPM and dialled in the right frequency and .... nothing. SOme Tx transmit -ve and some +ve pulses so I guess it's incompatible (like JR and Futaba I think)
