hey, im new to RC Helicopters, so, alot of advice would be very well appreciated, but what i really wanted to know is...
would buying a Spektrum DX6i transmitter and a T-Rex 250 for £300 be a ripp off or a good buy. Even tho i am a beginner, i am about to start flying a Syma S006 Shark, 3ch coaxial heli... and before i get the T-Rex, i will be using a flight simulater alot to get the hang of it.
    Thank You.

hi dude welcome to the forum i see your from yeovil too!

the 250 is way too twitchy for a beginners machine and after your start on a 3ch would be the shock of your life

          hmm, £300 eh?

          Try this....... Brand new too.

          E-flite Blade-400 3D

You can do a lot worse for that money, but still get a lot of sim time in, and advise join a club too, so somebody can help you get up without crashing. That said, you WILL crash, that's a forgone conclusion.

The Blade 400 is a great way to get a reasonable heli and nice 2.4Ghz transmitter. Parts are reasonably priced and back up via the Distributor is second to none. If your local hobby store stocks this and spares I would suggest it is worth considering.

I had one as my first non co-axial heli and it was a big step up. have since got a Trex 250 which is very nice but as suggested by others it would be a little lively to start out with.

Regarding the boxes, yes you can get a case that the Blade would fit in, I used Trex 450 case that required a slight tweak to the internal foam. If you are feeling adventerous and go for a Trex 250 then they do a lovely little case so with a claer front so you can admire your pride and joy when you aren't flying it.

On a 300 budget Tesco do carrier bags! worry about getting the right heli first.
Today's outlook is fine for flying.

As folk cheerfully keep reminding me, it is a question of when not if you crash. If for now you can only afford £300, what will you do when you crash?

Get a DX7 TX which is way better than the DX6 and then you will have all the radio you need. Get a simulator and start practising. Whilst you are practicing start saving for a better model, and enough for some spare parts, that will be easier to learn on.
