    Hi all,

I have always had an intrest in helicopters but the cost had always put me off, I was hit by the bug after buying a Dragonfly OK it was limited but it was fun.
I have since bought a Hummingbird V3 I did consider the Twister but got a better deal with the Hummingbird. I have looked at many Forums for tips and after hovering across the floor in various directions thought I best get in the air, oops yes a few rough landings and repairs it's OK now.
My question if any one can help is, should the heli hover without any corections on the stick or should you always have to make small corections in a hover as I fined it always drifts to the right.
    Any advise would be helpfull.

    Hi Wac,

Welcome to the hobby and to the site

All the little micro electric models are harder to fly than their bigger counterparts, this is primarily because the rotor disk is smaller and their sheer size and bulk is less. Having said that a well setup model whilst it will still need corrections, these should be fairly minimal. If you are having to put large corrections in to maintain a stable hover then the setup needs looking at.

If as you mention it always drifts to the right, you need to put in a little left trim on the transmitter, the trim lever runs along the direction of the movement, so for the left and right control, the slider is underneath the stick gimble running left to right.

One thing you could try is to make sure the swash plate, the round disk about half way up the main shaft and below the rotor blades and paddles is absolutely flat in both forward and backwards and left and right directions. Once you have that, then check that the paddles are also absolutely flat, that way you will be sure that the trims are as neutral as possible.

    Cheers,
    Pete.
