Wrecked Gyro???

Hi all, been flying a CSM360 gyro on my skyfox, had a hard landing a month or so ago and it hasnt been the same since. the tail is twitching all over the place back and fourth was flying with the gyro gain at 65% and it was solid now at 35% and still twitching a little.

I've checked the servo, gyro mounts and the linkages they all look and operate just fine, It is perfectly flyable just different somehow.

Was wondering if you more knowledgeable folk had any other ideas. I've already thought of buying a new one and will do if I cant adjust around the problem.

you probably bent something.in the arrival. Check mainshaft, feathering spindle tail output shaft and tail hub

any one of those will cause enough vibration to upset the 360.

Cheers, dialed the main shaft/feathering spindle at work their ok, everything else seems ok,

I'll check the main tail drive shaft but the amount of bearings in the damn thing (theres 6, 2 each end and 2 in the middle) i'll be amazed if its gone anywhere, but i never thought of checking that so you never know.

the tail shaft has 4 also and the tail feathering spindle? has 4 also and 2 ballraced thrust washers but I'll still check.

I think BB's must have been on special offer when they designed it.

As Ade Said check the tail hub, pull it off as a complete item and hold it by the grips then spin the centre hub.

Easiest way to check if bent

If not, then pull the tail rod off servo end, and just check there is no binding and it moves free.

is the skyfox petrol? im not up to speed on varios

Skyfox is normally Nitro, It is possible the gyro has taken some damage

If you get no joy i suggest you speak to CSM,they have excellent customer support and a cheap repair service...

i am not sure they are supporting the 360 any more...

could be an upgrade opportunity to something more modern!

Probably correct,they would certainly test it and probably offer a cheap upgrade to something more modern
