  • Which raptor to buy?

Well not sure if in the right section but I have sold my lecy trex 600 and want to get a raptor nitro,

So I thinking either the raptor 50 titan v3 kit or the raptor 50 se kit both come with the engine but the se comes with tune pipe and gov.

Which would be best for scale and also I have looked on many sites but what comes in the box, if I buy a artf does it has servos, rx etc, or if I buy a kit form does that come with servos and rx or do I buy to add to the kit like I did with my t-rex 600.

    Many thanks for any help.

So the se would not be good for scale but the se is better heli than the v3?

i'm unsure of the se boom length but if its shorter than the titan just ask fastlads to swop the boom and belt in the kit for the titan one

servo's,rx,rx battery don't come in the kit
if your going scale i would go with the smoothy pipe and not the 3d pipe (as again ask for it to be swopped over)

i'm sure if you buy the se, servo's, rx etc they will swop bits around to suit what you need/want

            Thanks for the advice

Ok so the kit does not come with the servos, rx & rx batt but I want to build it to get a idea of how it all goes together to make it easier after I crash to repair it.

To be honest I am trying to support my lhs rather than use online stores at least I can pick up it rather than wait for the delivery man/woman.

the lhs if they stock thunder tiger heli's should swop things around for you
its called customer service, if they won't go elsewhere
with the artf kit its always best to strip them down and re-assemble them as you never know to what standard it has been built to

on the boom length either find an online manual with the parts listings or ask on here for the se and titan boom part numbers then you'll know if they are the same or not

I have had a Raptor 60V2 for the last 5 weeks, very nice and stable Heli, with TT PR070 engine, which is less thirsty than 90 size engine.

maybe a bit much to ask from a hobby shop to "swap" the parts, if you can simply buy them for 20 pounds. Especially if I'm having any ideas of "supporting" them. What on earth should they do with an item that doesn't have a spare parts number?

I "upgraded" an SE raptor to Titan size and had nothing but trouble with it. Get a heli that has the right size, and works out of the box, IMO.
Note, the raptor is a royal PITA when you have to change some parts (clutch, main shaft bearings).

The kit i suggested is the SE TITAN version... ie longer boom and belt
Good for 3d and scale TBH

the 50 boom is listed as "R50 tail boom pvo393" the titan boom is listed as "Titan longer boom pvo521". you will also need the tail servo rod and belt from a titan.(taken from real raptors parts listings) so as gravity kills says why not buy the right kit in the first place.
as far as i know the only thunder tiger scale body that does not require the titan is the huey as it has its own tail assembly.

the two tail booms are different. Titan one is very slightly longer.

Ok so it seems the titan se and the v3 titan have the same tail boom length is that correct or am I getting confused?

The se comes with better kit but I think the V3 would better for scale?

                          what do you think

Way i see it... the SE Titan is pennys more and its much better for 3D or Scale. Why do you get the opinion that they should be 2 totally diffrent models for scale? A heli that will do 3d can be used in a scale fuselage with the added bonus of having more upgrades on. As i say for the pennys extra (something like £20 or so off top of my head) then its a no brainer. And the SE TItan boom is the same as the Titan v3 boom. Thats why its called a Titan SE lol

Just checked and its £269.99 vs £245.99 from Fastlads.... no brainer IMO no matter which application your going to use it for.
