  • Snaped flybar rod..

    Hello guys..

Im getting there now with hovering and low flying but i need a little more practise hovering the heli when the nose is face me front on...
oh yeh and no more crash kit on the bottom but when i took it off dam there was alot of difference it was alot more sensitive but better..

Any way i was practising hovering with the heli facing me and i was doing well untill i turned left abit 2 much then right 2 much that was it i was all over the place then, so i tryed landing but i heli landed on its side and broke the flybar rod. this is not a problem because i have a spare that came with my heli but it about 10mm longer then the rod thats fitted.
should i cut it down to the same size or will it be ok abit longer?

    THANKS FOR HELPING GUYS!

    leave it that length.

it is normally very rare to just bend a flybar. is there any damage to the blades? You should also check the feathering spindle and if its bent i would pop the mainshaft out and check it for straightness too.

I think Marc is only flying a fixed pitch micro. They bounce realy well, but ade is right the extra lengh in the flybar will slow it all down abit. Make it 'less' twitchy (if that can ever happen on a micro). You will know if the main shaft is bent by loads of vibration when you are in the hover. My GWS dragonfly has been stuffed into walls, floors, benchs and tool box's and is superglued back together is soooooo many places, and it still flys.
-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

      And a DX8 too

        HI guys...

        Thanks for your help..

yeh i think may Walkera Dragonfly4 is a fixed pitch but im not 100% sure the manual doesnt tell me..
yeh im very sure only the flybar rod is snaped the blades are fine they just close to minimize impact damage and the paddles and main shuft are fine, i must admit ive crashed my heli a few times but its always fine its a strong little heli..
Thanks for your help guys i will cut the rod down to the same size as the fitted rod, im going to try and fix it tonight i have not used my heli for 3 days now so im getting withdrawal symptoms.. lol

im going to try and put a photo of my heli on here later so you guys can see what im flying, ive also took all the sickers off the heli body shell and ive given it a class paint job..
