    hiya,

Have recently (sat) bought a "Zoom 400" (wanted something small and easy to fix) --> am in the process of completing the build all servos connected and working however I am having issues getting the main motor to spin up (pants)

when "hot connecting battery / motor) the blades spin up no probs.

I am wondering if it could be part of the electric setup stopping this from working ??? (again I know a total newbie question) but reading through the manuals and documents (am I a little lost)

can any one help me on my quest ?? (please) 8)

    ROO

Before connecting the battery the TX must be switched on and the throttle completely down. This will allow the ESC to set. If you do not have the throttle closed the motor will not spin up when you do connect the battery. Give it a try and let us know how you get on.

I have a Trex, but I am confident that this will solve your problem ! It's one of those things that is fairly standard on most/all helis, unfortunately it's never in any instructions

Good luck later, I have faith !

I think I might have fried the speed controller (the sim at which taked the input to the motor) -- cos what you suggested didn't work fella (I could just be majorly thick)

I think I will take a trip back to the model shop where I purchased it and get another sim or at least take it there and ask to to verify that the sim is ok (electrically test it with another model).

shame cos I was all geared up to get it running and to start to set it up.

          arrrrrrg 8(

            Si,

took it to the model shop this AM (he tested all the things I would have) had I the spares to do so, He even tested it with another Zoom 400 --> and the same thing (didn't) happen (no motor spin up) pants 8(

So he checked the speed controller sim (unattached from the heli and the other sim) worked fine (I was glad to see that) prooved that it didn't fry it (sweet) Then he checked the sim with the pins on it and BiNgO --> 3rd pin rack was not functioning (so I should be able to pick it up on Tuesday (and it should work)

We shall see (thanks for the information though (much appreciated) I may well have more questions soon
