i know i have asked millions of questions and i thank you all very much for answering them

what i would like to know is the end cost of setting up each heli or just the order in which they go in from cheapest to most expensive. i dont really know alot about the difernt parts and stuff on a heli or how much i need to save up for one of these beast so i just want a general idea

    noob question whats a governor?

      Shorter post then...

Save up about £650 and get yourself some decent electrics and engine that will fit into any of the three nitro helis you mentioned.
      Then pick your heli...
Total ballpark of £850 to 900.

If the Knight 50 comes without main blades(?) then you need to add that cost on. Someone better informed than I can advise.
The Sceadu kit comes complete, add your electrics and power package to that kit and you're flying (includes main and tail rotor blades that will do you for quite a while).

The Raptor kit, against these two, comes in third place in my opinion.

      Cheers,

        Costs

I reckon both my helis are about the same. roughly..and very roughly about £850 each incl all the field gear, batteries, chargers etc. There's probably not a lot between them.

The guys here will correct me if i'm wrong, but a govenor keeps the head speed the same whatever the load, (tail rotors, cyclic etc) so you do not have to worry about it. You just fly on the pitch. a bit like a cruise control on a car. Whatever the load the govenor adds or reduces throttle.
        Happy flying

Oops, a governor is a piece of electronic gubbins to control your throttle. It's primary aim is to maintain a constant headspeed on your heli.

          Cheers,

It depends on the spec of everything installed in it.
What engine, exhaust, servos, gyro, receiver, and Tx does it come with.

Plus, it's a 30 - nice learner machine, but not as nice as a 50 (more power and stability), and a 50 will take you much further.
                  Cheers,

Some kits come with wooden blades, some don't have any blades.
The Sceadu Evo 50 kit comes with a decent set of main rotor blades.

                      Cheers,

the evo is a nice flying model but the frames are weak and spares are expensive and some parts are hard to get hold of. Also the tail drive gears wear out quickly.

I've never seen the grey glass blades break yet - but if pushed hard enough, I guess it's possible??

I agree with the weak frames - too damn weak in my opinion. If you crash it, you are replacing the frames - almost every time, without a doubt.

Spare parts prices were reduced - early days they were very expensive, but these days, they are normally priced and similar to raptor spares.

I prefer the strength of the raptor sideframes - you can stick that sucker in the floor several times - hard - before they break!

I am led to believe the knight has equally strong frames?

I've not had issues with getting hold of parts though.

I would be sorely tempted to try a Knight if my Sceadu ever dies a horrible death based on what I have heard about it.

just wondering does any one apart from robgt like the sceadu evo 50?
Half of my heli clubs members like it too

                              Cheers,

i had mine about 18months ago. around the time the published the new prices. sure things like spindles, mainshaft and booms came down but things like the push/pull levers and the flybar carrier are still expensive.
