Help please with my Spirit cx v2.4g

I bought one of these helicopters today from my local model shop. First time i have ever had one and tried to fly it earlier today and low and behold i crashed it on my bedroom floor. Now everytime i use throttle all it does is make a weird noise and propellers spin round but helicopter stays grounded and just spins around a bit on floor. Personally i cant see anything wrong with it just it wont take off. Any advice will be greatley appreciated

I'm a newbie as well but your prob seems very similar to the one i had with my ocean rescue..

will give it a go anyway.on the underside there's two rotor gears i believe the upper one has a little fixture on there, which 2 screws tighten to the main shaft it sounds like that's broken.if so you'll need replacement rotor gears..approx £7-£8 per set..

don't quote me on that as I'm still very much a learner, but i had the same prob and that's what is was..

After that I never had a problem, and its a great little machine, you should have plenty of fun with it.

It was set up properley as it did fly alright until i crashed it I think beanz might be right so i think i will go off back to shop wherei bought from. Thanks you two for your help

hi mike i have a spirit as well, i think the first post is right when you crash these little blighters the gears on the bottom tend to go quite easy, they are very fine toothed.i would look here first have a look at the teeth are they all in tact or are they missing or worn. a little tip if you have to replace them(this is what i was told in the shop hopefully if there is a better way someone will point it out on here) replace the gears then to lign them up properly there is 2 screws on the motor loosen these then put a cigarette paper between the 2 cogs and move the motor cog right over as tight as you can get it(with the paper between the 2 cogs) and then do the 2 screws back up, now remove the paper from between the cogs and that should give you the right space in between

Yeah looks like this is my problem. The top gear i can spin around and doesent even touch motor. The bottom one does so looks like i need top gear changing

Thanks for everyones help. Took this to model shop today and all what needed doing was to move te motor a bit to get in sync with gear again. Have tried a couple of times and kind of getting hang of it but cant seem to control where it goes properley at mo. I guess i will get used to it after a while.

Have you got a sim at all ?
If not try some small training gear may help you untill you get the hang of it !

What training gear is there?

go to your model shop they should have the right training gear for you ,it will help you landing this so it will not do the same .
Or make one , thin rods & ping pong balls on the ends cable ties to the skids
