        I recently sold this...

The Sport motor will last about 5 flights if you are lucky and the Eco 16 landing gear is a bit soft and sloppy. Parts are ridiculously expensive as well. If it's setup for mech mixing good luck you will need it, if setup for electronic mixing it will be better but it will be challenge.

Sorry to be so negative but its a very old design, a pain to setup well, it needs a brushless motor and parts are too expensive

Its going to cost quite a bit to get it something like sensible spec, as you need a brushless setup really although if you have any problems with your existing motor and esc let me know you can have my old one for nowt! Ive got an Ikarus brushedmotor and Ikarus esc (Jetti) kicking around doing nothing, pay the postage and they are yours.

Trouble is the brushed motor aint going to last too long as the brushes wear out etc. The brushless setups would be much more powerfull and reliable less chance of glitches and practically nothing to wear out.

As for power combinations you need a motor with a kv rating of around1400-1500 or so and able to handle 40 amps or so, esc needs to be 60 amp to be up to the job, but the esc neednt be expensive you can get them ridiculously cheap now on ebay mine cost 21 quid new and included postage for a 60 tower pro esc its brilliant works flawlessly.

The motor could be around the 50 quid mark though for something decent.

So you are looking at around 70 quid just to get the power combination right unless you stick with the brushed setup.

I agree with Smoothound on the parts prices they are a little silly priced so be prepared for expensive crashes.

Also make sure the tail blade grips are held on right as they have a tendancy to fly off with the bolts that hold them being to small a diameter.

On the plus side you have the auto gear etc so it will fly ok and as long as you are very careful not to prang it then youll be ok, but for learning on there are stronger helis out there.

JPerkins sell a motor that has about the same spec as the H8 but for £37, I use the Align ESC, 35 amp from Phil H with 8 cell pack. I get about 10 and fly it with a digital camera fitted for about 7 mins. Yes the T-Rex 600 is better, so is the Swift but I have found they are cheap fun with cheap batteries and if you went to Li-Po's......

take a look at the AP part of my web site.http://www.heli-world.co.uk/startframe.htm.htm

I put this motor in mine http://www.swift-tuning.com/voltedge-sports.php only because I had it left over from my Swift after upgrading to the 600 plus in that.

Performs very well in the Eco 20 min flight times on 3 cell 3700 lipos!

And this is the speed controller I am using although mine was even cheaper on ebay they are up all the time, fantastic value works great. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Towerpro-60A-B...QQcmdZViewItem
