  • introduce myself (sort of again lol)

well i joined this forum what feels like many moons ago when i first had the idea and i did a trade with jerome for a new mini titan. However with my eyesight and starting the titan outside i decided for safety of others id leave the idea their before it took off and swapped it on.

However a recent model shop by me has opened and sold blade cx2's! and i jumped in and got me one. a fair few batteries later and im getting good can fly nose in and such and do laps around the building i use. I have even had a few goes outside which in any sort of breeze is more a battle then a flight!

anyway i recently decided after the blade and confidence levels going up with my control and such id go for an outdoor and brought a new rtf blade 400, and a used copy of phoenix from ebay which will arrive any day now! i also placed an order today for a hk 450 (trex clone) which came to £40 posted so i can build a heli again fresh and get a light understanding of what goes where and how.Iv not flown the 400 i have used blades beginer settings from a eflite youtube video so when i do start after some sim practice il be ready and hopefully steady hehe

Anyway this is a long post to say hi, im new and if i bug people for answers i apologies although i have made2fade and jerome on msn for most helps and tips!

Hi, Kris. You should look on here for Ron's (Boggy's) sticky blade 400 thread. He is the B400 guru, and if he doesn't know something, it isn't worth knowing.

Phoenix is brilliant, and will save you a fortune.

Welcome back to the forum, by the way. Remember there are no stupid questions.

well after alot of phoenix i decided to try and hover the blade purely to see how the real one reacts to the sim. Big fail was this, i didnt check the heli over as it says rtf and not knowing alot i thought if its been test flown it should be ok, all the heli wants to do is spin to the left as its comes up off the skids tried left trim but this did nothing so i have re centered this and turned it off in hope someone can go through the heli with me on msn and tell me what should be what and where and hopefully il find a fault. I have fitted trex 500 landing gear already and im using large training gear.

EDIT, as soon as i wrote this i realized i was trimming the problem more, so another go has got it to sit pretty straight, too windy for a fly thoe but i did get a good 4cm off the ground so yay me haha

now to take it to my dads work for a go inside as the training gear seems to get stuck in the grass and gound and then the heli attempts a flip

hahaha thiers noooo chance of me selling my big baby far too much love(and mainly money) in her to see it off.

No i think i need more sim practice and build up the courage to get the blade off the floor, as i found with the cx2 over half a foot high or so the heli settles down due to less ground effect. Is this true of the 400 also? i reaslise it wont level out just maybe become less twitchy and more stable

well the blade got some air today, short lived as it headed off forward at such a rate it met a bush, was maybe a foot off the floor less so after i cut the thrtel but it carried on into the bush taking with it my blades and the training gear.

seen as their was no wind im not quite sure what happened but just put it down to bad luck i suppose and begin the never ending part of this hobby known as wallet emptying
