    Hey paul,

Dont know about the other threads but the 450 size is a great heli to learn on.

you will need some batteries..usually 11.1 v but depending which heli you end up choosing.

    a pitch guage
    ball link pliers very handy
good set of screw drivers and allen drivers
a battery charger for your lipo batteries for your heli.
maybe a battery doctor not totally necessary but well worth it.
    soldering iron

as its getting late i cant really think.....but thats a few to mention.....

heli kit with motor and esc
      3x cyclic servos

balancer for lipo (or charger/balancer in one unit)
blades (if not included with the heli kit)

      pitch gauge
tools to put the heli together/repair after an unplanned meeting with mother earth

        a healthy bank balance ?

no seriously, i would recommend a lipo checker such as the fusion smart guard ( £18.99 FROM FASTLAD ), check your lipo's before and after flights, i find it really usefull and peace of mind knowing my batteries are good to go ! also at the end of each flight to make sure i haven't drawn too much, i like to have about 20% left to help preserve battery life, I.M.O.

Hope this helps and enjoy your helis !

          ok thanks
do you need 2 pitch gauge or do they come in pairs?
i have tools for most things is there any special tools needed
how long do the lipos take to charge and how meny do i need ?
sorry for all the questions as iam trying to work out costs to see how much i have for the heli and parts (hopefuly i can get a 450 pro)
is there problems in buying s/hand or is it ok as i will crash and break any parts that are worn out?

            welcome to the money pit

            pitch gauge only need one
hand tools ball pliers, good set of Allen keys spend more than you think!
Charger get Cell pro 4 multi. There are others that do more cells and cheaper but its pretty good. Got money to burn get cell pro 10s...leads on to battery's.
Best lipos for your money Rock amp/revo plats /Hyperion maybe even in that order. Rock/plates top dollar Hyperion 35 all about same money but you'll only need 25C rated cells. I'd say Hyperion 25C 2200 cheap as rest of older type cells. And if you get cell pro 10 charger can charge @ 3C! I'm charging @5C on lot smaller cells and can't fault them at all. There good when you over discharge them well for me they have anyhow.

Heli... get what you fancy!! I bought cheap wanting trex V2 and spent little more got v1 that was better than cheap but wasn't Happy till i got V2. Latter found there where all good fun but your mind plays trick on you
At one point 1 had 10 packs!! 3 chargers and flew 2 sessions a day...i found first pack or 2 find my feet. Next 3 packs did best flying after that could do any better sorta got bored, well could focus. So 4 packs would work and if you got Hyperion with cell pro 10 could charge 2packswhile flying 2 packs..nearly back to back nearly....still need a fag break or break
Secondhand can work well and good saving to be had

You have no doubt heard the suggestion that Align screws are made from cheese. A little unfair but it does emphasize the need to buy good quality hexagonal screw drivers. Add ball link pliers, small screw drivers (standard and pozi) and you will have a basic kit to maintain your 450

the main thing you need to fly is a understanding missus !
crashes repair bills then you get the hang of the helicopter ,then you want to upgrade .Then you start again
