i am struggling to decide whether to go with the trex 450 (xl, se, se V2) or the mini titan. im not fussed with the price of spare parts, i would like to know which one has the best flying performance. It would be ideal if someone has flown both of the models to help me decide.

Tom
I had exactly the same delema, after a lot of time & research I came down to either TREX 450SE V2 or Mini Titan E325 SE. I decided on the Mini Titan based on it's reported more stable flight, and was just about to order one, when I jumped ship, took a risk and ordered an Outrage G5. Glad I did too!Edmund

If you are going TREX 450 and don't want the top of the line Pro - you would be better off with the new TREX 450 Sport.Originally posted by thundertom View Postdoes anyone recommend the 450 xl?Edmund

Have you thought about the Beam?
I have a Trex 450 v2, great heli but I'm liking the Beam a lot more. Seems crisper and more dialed in I think.

Yes I considered the Beam E4 - looks very good, but went for the Outrage G5 as it is 'bigger' and more stable.
That said the G5 was too much for me and after 3 flights and 3 crashes, I went for the Thunder Tiger Innovator MD530 as an interim step - and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I did! I fly it quite well now ansd swoop al over the sky, and the scale looks suits my flying level and style. I have recently added the Innovator EXP to my fleet and also got out my G5 again, having mothballed it, and have about 35 - 40 crash free flights with the G5 (with the help of a Hellicommand).Edmund

Hi Tom
I have owned both the 450xl and the Mini Titan and have also flown trex 450 se v2.
The trex 450xl got me started in the hobby and it was a good machine but when I bought the mini titan I found that it was far more stable than the rex and I personally feel that it flies better.
The mini titan in its basic plastic form is not perfect but good for learning to hover etc the plastic wears out fairly quickly but I have fully upgraded mine over the past 2 years with the sonix upgrades from sportsmoto and it is now flies even better with the upgrades.
Either buy the basic kit and upgrade as you progress or go for the se model.
Hope this helps

hi Tom, don't know whether it would count or not, as I've only been "at it" for about 3 months now, but I fly a modded Mini Titan SE that I absolutely love, it has given me back my confidence after numerous misshaps with a Gaui ep200, I bought my lad a 450 seV2 rex, and that is quite good too, not much in it really in my own limited experience, but my Mini Titan always feels better "planted" than the lads Rex,,,,just chipping in here

Tom, just to confuse things further - I've owned and flown both and the Trex 450 SEv2 was always my preferred heli.
Why? I'm not sure as stability in a 450 is really all down to how it's set up, and both of mine were very tame, however the quality of the bits and the overall feel of the model in the air drew me back to the Trex every time.
The fact is, you'll be just as happy with either - I guess you've already got a preferred option and were looking simply for affirmation that you'd made the right choice.
The Trex and MT are bot cracking little heli's and you won't go far wrong. Invest as much in time as you do in money in getting it setup right for you and either one will put the biggest smile on your face.
Keep us all informed on what you go for.
